By accessing or using Canto9 ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Platform.

Canto9 is operated by Twixel Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our").

2. Description of Service

Canto9 is a digital publishing platform specializing in AI-generated fiction. The Platform allows users to discover, purchase, and read digital books (ebooks) published by Canto9.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Platform, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

4. AI-Generated Content & Licensing

All books on Canto9 are AI-generated fiction. This means:

• No human author exists for these works
• Content is generated using artificial intelligence technology
• Books are clearly labeled as AI-generated on the Platform
• No copyright is claimed on AI-generated content

4.1 CC0 Public Domain Dedication

All AI-generated content on Canto9 is released under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal (Public Domain Dedication). This means:

• No restrictions - You may copy, modify, distribute, and use the content for any purpose
• Commercial use allowed - You may use purchased content for commercial purposes
• No attribution required - You are not required to credit Canto9 or any author
• Create derivatives - You may adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the content
• Worldwide - These freedoms apply in all jurisdictions

In jurisdictions where CC0 is not legally effective, we grant you a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use the content in any way you choose.

4.2 What You're Paying For

When you purchase a book on Canto9, you are paying for:

• Convenient access to curated, quality-checked AI-generated fiction
• DRM-free EPUB file delivery
• Platform infrastructure and curation

You are not paying for exclusive rights - the content itself is freely usable under CC0.

5. Reader Terms

5.1 Purchases

When you purchase a book:

• You receive immediate access to download the DRM-free EPUB file
• The content is released under CC0 - you may do anything you want with it
• All sales are final unless otherwise required by law

5.2 Download Limits

Each purchase includes a reasonable number of downloads. Excessive download requests may be limited to prevent abuse. This is a technical measure to prevent server overload, not a content restriction.

6. Payments

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. We do not store your full payment card details.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Platform
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation
• Use automated systems to access the Platform without permission
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Platform ceases immediately
• We may delete your account and content
• Pending payments to authors will be processed according to our payment schedule

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Canto9 shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or Platform notification. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
